Ready or not - here I go! I'm jumping on the blogging bandwagon and adding my little family and life to the mix of family blogs out here. I'm sure I have more to learn about this world of blogging (because it's still a little confusing), but like my genius work with PowerPoint these days, I'm sure I'll be a blogging extraordinaire in no time!
In addition to my new try at blogging, technology is forcing itself on me via the Nintendo DS Lite. It was a gift from my work with the EF Foundation for Foreign Study (a group that places foreign students in US homes to study here for a year). I haven't been completely sold on it, yet, as I'm more of a books-and-needlework nerd, but before I sell it, I'm going to try out some of my mom's favorite games to see if it's worth keeping (I just can't help but think that I'd enjoy a library card or mini-greenhouse more, but we'll see...)
As for life in the Bryan family - - we're busy gearing up for Halloween this Friday. Daddy really wanted Adam dressed up as a "mini" Captain Kirk, but with my sewing machine still packed and sitting behind 5 or more rows of boxes, it will have to wait for another year. So, I'm borrowing a co-workers Curious George costume that her son wore last year (which fits our little monkey a little better, anyway!)
Last Saturday, as soon as Adam went down for his three-hour nap, David and I headed outdoors to keep clearing away the trees and brush that are in the way of our growing garden (the oak pictured to the left is "safe"). We anticipate enlarging our garden by three times its current size which will make our garden a full 1/4 acre! Are we nuts? (Don't answer that!)
Adam is ever the precocious little monkey! He is really adept at praying for such a little guy. When it's time for bed, I put him down with a bottle of warm milk and from the time he was 8-months-old have consistently said a bedtime prayer with him. Now he folds his hands when it's time to pray and says a resolute "May-men!" every time. If his bottle happens to be in his mouth when it is time to say "Amen" he pulls it right out to make sure he says it!
I was amazed last night when I was cleaning my room and found one of my church's "Pass-along" cards with a picture of Jesus on it. I asked him who that was and I swear he said "Jesus" in the cutest little kid voice! I guess we're doing something right!

Yay! Welcome to the world of blogging. I love it because you can (must) post pictures of all your adventures with the blog entry's. Can;t wait to see pictures of your 1/4 acre next summer, or some of those Bryan pies. And of course pictures of your little one.
